Anker, the multi-dimension consumer electronics company has revealed its ultra fastest charger Atom PD1 in CES. The company has mastery in making fast chargers and following the legacy, Anker finally officially launched its first GaN charger Atom PD 1, which was announced in October last year. The product has been released for several months and the official promise is to be released in January. The price set by the Anker for the charger is $29.99, but the exact shipping date is still in speculation.
However, what exactly is special in the Atom PD 1?
The Anker new Atom PD 1 charger uses Gallium nitride, a new type of semiconductor material that can achieve higher power output in a smaller volume. The application of this material also makes it possible to miniaturize high-power chargers. Anker’s Atom PD1 delivers 30W of output power, but the overall size is not large. The PD1 itself also supports various power outputs such as 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 15V/2A, and 20V/1.5A.
It is worth mentioning that Atom PD1 will not be the only one of Anker’s GaN product line. Anker promises to launch Atom PD2 with dual USB-C interface and total output power of 60W and dual USB-C plus double later this year. USB-A, Atom PD4 with a total output power of 100w.
