We all love Gmail, and in fact, all other products Google has to offer. All the Google products, we have access to, make it a lot easier to enjoy the whole nine yards of the internet with no hassles at all. From Drive to Chrome, and from Google Mail aka. Gmail to Google Photos, we all love every single product of Google. Besides offering a bunch of handy services, Google has also optimized the products in some cool handy ways to make the services as precise as per our needs. One such optimization or feature of Google Mail or Gmail is to see a mail preview right before opening it.
The preview pane on Gmail can be used to read the complete email with just a single click, even without losing sight of the list of emails you have in your inbox. Without the preview pane on Gmail, the user has to click on the mail and hit the back button to see the emails. Thus, with the preview pane, just bid goodbye to the limitation and see the list of emails and the contents of a particular email message at the same time. The preview pane is hidden in the Gmail settings, and I will help you to find it out and enable it in no time.
So let’s get started with how you can enable the preview pane on Google Mail or Gmail.
Where is the preview pane in Gmail to turn it on?
The steps to follow
Step 1: Open Gmail, and click on the ‘Settings’ cog on the top right part of Gmail, and then on ‘Settings’.
Step 2: In the ‘Settings’ window, click on ‘Advanced’. Enable ‘Preview Pane’ by clicking on ‘Enable’ in the button corresponding to it.
Step 3: Scroll down, and click on ‘Save Changes’ to be able to see the preview of the selected message on Gmail for the web.
Step 4: The configuration is done. Now open Gmail or Google Mail, and click on the drop-down icon corresponding to the small icon, shown below.
Step 5: As you can see, there are three options, i.e. ‘No Split’, ‘Horizontal Split’ and ‘Vertical Split’. No Split is the default one. The horizontal and vertical split views are as shown below.
The vertical split view is undoubtedly better than the horizontal one, and I don’t think it needs an explanation, why. You can easily switch between your chosen type of split view and the no split view by clicking on the following icon.
Step 6: If in future you want to disable the preview pane of Gmail then again go to Settings ->Advanced and select disable option given in front of Preview Pane.
Bid adieu to the back button on your Gmail inbox with the very useful preview pane on your Gmail inbox. Not just viewing, but you can also give reply to the conversations, and forward the emails directly from the preview pane. Thus, it is indeed cool to have the preview pane always open on your Gmail.
So that was all about a small tip on making Gmail more useful. Hope the information was helpful for you. Do you have anything else to say? Feel free to comment the same down below.
