With the tablet market declining in India, domestic consumer electronics company iBall has still maintained a strong position in the country when it comes to portable devices. Tapping into the 4G revolution, iBall has recently launched iBall Slide Brace-X1 4G Tablet that comes with VoLTE support and is priced at Rs 17,499.
iBall was the first brand that introduced octa-core processor in the 10.1-inch tablet PC segment in 2015 that made the Brace X1 front runner among other tablets.
Let’s take a closer look at the design and performance of the device.

iBall Slide Brace-X1 4G Tablet Design
Sporting a 10.1-inch screen, Brace-X1 4G is bigger in size and resembles the same design format as we saw earlier in the Lenovo Yoga tablet. The tablet stands on its own conveniently on any surface thanks to its kickstand.
The kickstand offers three ways — hold, stand and tilt — to perform a quick switch from one mode to another. The stand is also sturdy enough and keeps the tablet in the selected position.
While the “Hold” position allows for a firmer grip, “Stand” form factor makes its go 80 degrees. We mostly liked the “Tilt” position as it brings comfort while watching movies and surfing the web.
Overall, the Slide Brace-X1 4G does look like a premium tablet with all the connectivity needed to perform daily tasks.
iBall Slide Brace-X1 4G Tablet Performance
The In-Plane Switching (IPS) HD panel with 149 ppi produced good, vibrant colours reproduction and also works nicely when exposed to direct sunlight. Even while viewing the tablet screen from the sides, there is minimal colour distortion. Thus, if you have more people looking at the screen at the same time, there will not be any problem. Of the 16GB built-in storage, approximately 5GB is used by the OS, other application files and users get nearly 11GB free.
Powered by an octa-core 1.3GHz ARM Cortex A53 64-bit processor paired up with 2GB of RAM, the tablet glided smoothly in between the apps.
However, we did notice a slight delay in opening apps while working on the tablet, when the storage was nearly full.
The rear camera now has 8MP which has been downgraded from the previous Brace X1 device that came with 13MP. The camera captured decent images but fails to impress us in low-light conditions. The 5MP front snapper is average for making video calls.
One key feature of the tablet is its 7,800mAH battery that lasted for approximately 20 hours on light to moderate usage that includes surfing web, using social media apps like Instagram and watching videos over YouTube.
The dual chamber speaker located at the sides produced clear audio and are well suited to entertain you in close proximity of the device.
Bottom-Line
The iBall Slide Brace-X1 4G is a device aimed at on-the-go users. Consider buying it for elegant design, a bigger display and a good battery life.
