Reliance Jio has recently introduced its newest affordable 4G feature phone, known as the ‘JioBharat B1.’ This internet-enabled phone joins the company’s existing lineup of budget phones, including the Jio V2 series and K1 Karbonn.
Like other phones in its price range, this feature phone boasts a 2.4-inch screen and offers support for UPI payments through the pre-installed JioPay app. On the rear, it features a camera island reminiscent of the Google Pixel 8, housing an undisclosed digital camera and an LED torch. Jio claims that the 2,000mAh battery can provide up to 343 hours of standby time.
According to the product listing on Amazon, the JioBharat B1 comes preloaded with apps such as JioSaavn, an FM radio app, and JioCinema. It operates on the Threadx RTOS platform and supports 23 Indian languages, including various regional dialects.
This device weighs 110 grams and includes a 3.5mm headphone jack and a microSD card slot for expanding storage up to 128GB. Due to its budget nature, Jio appears to have locked the device to its own network, meaning it won’t function with other SIM cards, except for existing Jio SIMs.
To fully enjoy the JioBharat experience, customers are advised to opt for a recharge plan of Rs 123 or higher, as plans priced at Rs 91 and Rs 75 may limit access to certain services. The Rs 123 plan offers unlimited voice calls and 500MB of mobile data for 28 days.
The JioBharat B1 is currently available in a single black color variant and can be purchased from the official website or Amazon for a price of Rs 1,299. For those who aren’t existing Jio customers, the company is offering a free SIM card along with the device.
