You might be as excited as I am, to get hands-on the first-ever foldable display smartphone, and Samsung is here with the good news. The first ultra-thin handset with a foldable display is probably going to be the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2, as per leaks by Ice Universe. This is undoubtedly going to be the first surprise for the tech community in the coming decade.
Samsung has also applied for the trademarks for the Samsung Ultra-Thin Glass or UTG in Europe, and as per the leaks, the phone will have an ultra-thin glass instead of plastic, which is expected to last longer and will be free from wrinkles at the folds. The smartphone is expected to come with Samsung’s custom-built One UI 2.0, which is based on the latest Android 10.
The existing Samsung Galaxy Fold is available at $2,000, and isn’t that popular, only because of the price. However, the successor or the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to be priced at around $1,000, and will probably have 256 GB of internal storage, exactly 50% of, what the predecessor has to offer. The other technical specifications of the handset, however, isn’t yet available, as of now.
Coming to the design, the handset can be folded to make it a concise handset that should fit within the palm of most users. The handset is seen to have two cameras at the back with a small punch-hole for the selfie-camera. The Galaxy Fold 2 by Samsung should be launched alongside the Samsung Galaxy S11, which is also set to release the coming year.
I just hope, it is a real-leak as foldable smartphones will definitely make it easier to carry it within our pockets and can be converted into a tablet of some sort to get more room to play and the user can carry out other extensive tasks. The advantages of using foldable handsets are many, and all should apply to the leaked Samsung Galaxy Fold 2.
So the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 is going to be an extraordinary handset, which we should be able to find in the markets, the coming year. Do you have anything to say? Feel free to comment on the same below.
