Samsung has unveiled its latest tablet series, the Galaxy S9 Tab series, at the Galaxy Unpacked event in Seoul, South Korea. This new series includes three models: the Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+, and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. Notable features of these tablets are the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, compatibility with the S Pen, and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series comes in two stylish colors, Beige and Graphite, and offers three different sizes: 14.6-inch for the Tab S9 Ultra, 12.4-inch for the Tab S9+, and 11-inch for the Tab S9. Samsung is also promising four generations of One UI and Android OS upgrades, along with five years of security updates for these tablets.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series: Price
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series starts at $799 (approximately Rs. 65,540) in the USA, and pre-orders have already commenced. As for the Indian prices, they are yet to be disclosed by the company. More information regarding the Indian prices will be unveiled on July 27th.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 – Specifications and Features
Moving on to specifications, the Galaxy Tab S9 boasts a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The series includes an 11-inch model for the Tab S9 and a 12.4-inch display for the Tab S9+. All three models are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, ensuring powerful performance. Moreover, they feature an IP68 rating, making them water and dust resistant for added durability.
The Eye Comfort mode in the Galaxy Tab S9 series helps reduce eye strain by significantly lowering blue light. Additionally, the tablets come with 20% larger quad speakers powered by AKG, providing an immersive sound experience with Dolby Atmos support.
For a truly cinematic sound experience, users of the Galaxy Tab S9 can select from various customized sound settings, whether it’s for gaming, listening to music, making video calls, and more. All tablets in the series are coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage.
The Galaxy Tab S9 series supports the Book Cover Keyboard and DeX Mode, allowing users to enjoy a desktop-like experience with the convenience of tablet portability. The Book Cover Keyboard is adjustable and has a backlit keypad, giving it a lightweight PC-like feel. DeX Mode provides an easy-to-follow cursor, flexible window resizing, and Second Screen capabilities for mirroring or extending the PC screen to the tablet.
The Galaxy Tab S9 comes with a maximum of 12GB RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. On the other hand, the other two models, Tab S9+ and Tab S9 Ultra, offer up to 512GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 1TB using a microSD card.
As for the battery capacity, the Tab S9, S9+, and S9 Ultra are equipped with 8,400mAh, 10,900mAh, and 11,200mAh batteries respectively, providing ample power for extended usage. All three tablets run on the latest Android 13 operating system.
Regarding the camera setup, the Tab S9 is equipped with a 13MP rear camera, while the Tab S9+ and Tab S9 Ultra feature a dual-camera setup with 13MP + 8MP lenses. For selfies, the Tab S9 and Tab S9+ come with a 12MP front camera, whereas the Ultra model boasts a dual-lens front camera setup.
